I'm working on my new R5E50 system with an HD5000AV card. I'm able to get my Comcast QAM channels tuned, but can't get a couple of channels to retrieve program guide data. I followed the instruction on some of the other posts to use OTA program guide data for the local stations, but it's the few unencrypted channels that don't want to sync. For some reason the Discovery HD channel was able to automatically get the proper xmltv id, but I need to get the ids for TNT HD, ESPN HD, and ESPN2 HD.
Is there a way to determine the proper xmtlv id for these channels so that I can manually add them to the channels in the mythtv-setup?
I see that v.20 has a Frontend Channel Editor function that I might try when I get home. http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Frontend_Channel_Editor

I think I found the answer to my own question on the Silicondust forums. http://www.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2297
To find the xmltv ids for your zap2it lineup, go to the the zap2it.com website (not labs.zap2it.com) and locate the same listings. The xmltv ids can be found in the link for the stations under the getSingleStation&stnNum. In my case, the ESPNHD xmltv id lists as 32645.
Quote: http://tvlistings5.zap2it.com/tvlistings/GridAction.do?method=getSingleStation&stnNum=32645&lineupId=IN13467:X&zipcode=46804&channel=202
I will have to verify this when I get home tonight.
Edit: Verified. The Frontend Channel Editor works in R5E50

I'm not following your lead here. I went to the zap2it site (not labs) and pulled up my cable list but did not see any link for getSingleStation&stnNum? Please advise.
Thanks

When you see the table for all the listings, there should be an html link for each station name in the left column. This will bring up all the listings for just that station. In my previous example, I scrolled down to the ESPNHD row and looked at the hyper link for that station.
Hope that clarifies things.

I notice that you posted in a thread that the .20 FCE works in R5E50. Can you tell me exactly what you did to make that work?
I go into livetv and press "e" and all I get is a recording editor where I set cutpoints for commercials and stuff.

I didn't have to do anything to get it to work. When I'm viewing live tv, 'e' pulls up the channel editor. When watching a recording, 'e' pulls up the show editor. Sorry I'm not much help. You can still edit the channel info in the mythtv-setup.
