Something which I can across on the mythtv wiki, which may be of interest to people here.

http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Record_multiple_channels_from_one_multiplex

Apparently it should be posisble to record multiple DVB channels at the same time using a single tuner! (if the channels are on the same multiplex).

Also multiplex recording should avoid the annoying problem with the end of a broadcast being in the next recording or the beginning of a broadcast being at the end of a previous recording by overlpaping the recordings.

But before everyone gets too excited this feature hasn't been programmed yet, but a pledge (25euros)has been started to pay for some developers to fast track the work.

Interesting project. I also see they are over a quarter of the way to their pledge goal.

I do think the "on same mux" limitation is pretty big. I just bought a 25 euro DVB-T card and it won't have that limitation
