Post subject:  DTV displaying in fill mode and won't change!

Hi,
I've successfully installed KnoppMyth as a frontend system on my loungeroom PC. It connects to my KnoppMyth server and gets all of the media and settings from the server without a problem. The hassle I've got is that when playing either Live TV or Recorded TV it fills the 4:3 screen even though it's 16:9 DVB-T Broadcast. When I go to the menu and change the Aspect Ratio to something else or press (W) it doesn't change the Aspect Ratio at all. It does work fine on the server where everything is stored just not on the new front end.

lspci | grep VGA reports this:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82915G/GV/910GL Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 04)

I can't see anything that I might have missed! Any ideas?

Thanks,
Peter Young.

Are you using the i810 driver?

Stupid Question time! :) Which is the default config file for X that stores the graphics card info? I used to always go to /etc/X11/XF86config but it isn't there. Is it all under /etc/X11/xorg.conf? If so I think I've found the problem seeing that this file appears to only point to the vesa driver and not the i810.

Let me know if I'm close!

Thanks,
Peter Young.

This change is called out in the R5F1 Hints (Known Change 2.1). If you haven't read 'em yet, there's no time like the present...

Thanks! I'll be sure to read them next time before I start configuring.

I've got it working now anyway. I changed the vesa driver over to the i810 driver and it's working perfectly and with a better frame rate as well.

Thanks for the help.
Peter
