Hi,

After many requests, I finally wrote a patch for AusDragonTweaker.sh to include icetv's subscription based guide.

For those of you who patch, go to http://www.better-access.com/KM/AusDragonTweaker.diff

For those of you who don't, go to http://www.better-access.com/KM/AusDragonTweaker.sh

The original file is located in /usr/bin on R5F27

Enjoy,

Mike

I can only give my own opinion about this, so YMMV.

IceTV gave me a free subscription because I told them I was going to write this automation into Knoppmyth. I'll keep using/testing it, but at this stage for me I would say that oztivo wins by a country mile. A friend of mine (a reporter for "The Age") cited some amazing features of IceTV where you could set your media box to record a whole series, and use your mobile to set a recording, but I haven't checked this out. I thought that mythweb + web equipped mobile could accomplish the same trick.

If I had an IceTV subscription and wanted to use Knoppmyth (have a look at the instructions for MythTV: You have to write numerical xmltvids down on paper then enter them manually into the database!), this new compatability breaks down the barrier. Additionally, some (quite a lot of, really) people actually prefer a commercial solution to being part of a community.

I found that the HD channels in IceTV are just as empty of data as oztivo. Don't know when/if this will change. Suppose I [c sh]ould ask them about this.

Finally, if oztivo suddenly dies, at least you have another option. It's good to have options.

Cheers

Mike

Update on this: Icetv seems a lot better at populating the new channels (7 and 10 HD). If you already have ice set up and working, re-scan and run mythfilldatabase and your channels will be updated with icetv. Of course, with oztivo, you'll have to manually select the new channels and change the xmltv ids.

The free guide seems a bit slow in populating the new channels. Right now, the community guide says "33% filled for 7 HD and 18% filled for Ten HD" for today. Not great.
