I've had the same hardware since R5C7 (see sig). My HD-3000 card worked flawlessly for DTV both in live and recorded mode. When I updated to R5E50 live DTV over the same HD-3000 card was pixellated and stalled frequently. However, it would record the DTV just fine, and I can play back the recording just fine.
Since I do not have an HDTV monitor yet I haven't been to concerned.
Since I'm hoping Santa will bring me one this year I would like to get live DTV working. I've tried playing around with interlacing on/off, with the live tv recording profile settings. Changed from vxmc to standard etc in mythtv-setup. Nothing seems to make a difference.
Something seems to have been changed since R5C7 in the live DTV area that
broke it.

Has anyone seen similar issues and resolved them?

THanks

I have also been using 2 HD-3000 since R5C7.

I have updated my system twice since then, R5D1 and most recently to R5F27. I have not noticed any problems with DTV recordings or playback.

What are the other specs for your system? It could be related to your display adapter.

Were you previously using the tuner in ATSC mode and now using it in QAM mode?

Have always been using QAM256 mode. On Comcast.
As I said. I can still record and play just fine on R5E50. The problem seems to be in the live tv. In R5C7 I could watch liveTV on the HD-3000 just fine. With R5E50, no go. Live TV is unusable. It is almost like with R5E50 the playback can not keep up with the data stream.

Have you run "top" to see what your cpu utilization looks like when your trying to watch Live TV?

Can you play back an HD show that you recorded previously during the recording of another HD show? Do you have problems with 720p shows as well as 1080i? 1080i require more resources on my machine.

If you are playing this on your frontend, I don't think 1Ghz is enough horsepower for HD. If you are playing this on the backend, the MX440 may be the problem. Don't quote me, but I think it is becoming less supported in the newer versions.

Playing DTV/HD on the BE machine. FE never had the "umph" to play HD.
I only have available up to 720i. But even at 720x480i it stutters out in livetv mode.

Have you not done one of the fix ups since your upgrade? Perhaps you haven't added the hard drive optimisations? Check this: http://knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=Optimize+Hard+Drive+Performance
It may solve your issues.
Equally, it might not...

If you watch a previously recorded show from your PVR-350 while a show from your HD-3000 is recording, does the HD-3000 file get messed up?
