I picked up a Hauppauge HVR-950 USB HDTV tuner on sale today to use as a second ATSC tuner. I've seen that it works in Linux and MythTV.

I got it working with v4l-dvb-experimental drivers, but then my pcHDTV HD3000 doesn't work. ( cx8800 unknown-symbol videobuf_queue_init ). I then install the latest v4l-dvb (non-expirmental) drivers and the HD3000 works but the HVR-950 doesn't. (To be clear, I am talking about the DVB drivers. I am not intentionally using and haven't tested the analog drivers.) I am downloading them via Mercurial.

How can I use the cx88* drivers from the non-experimental v4l alongside the em28* drivers from the experimental v4l?

Got it working! Sometimes you just need to clean the slate and start over.

After reading a bunch of driver help I decided there may be conflicting versions of module files, so I renamed /lib/modules/<my-kernel-version> and rebuilt the kernel modules and reinstalled. Then I reinstalled the v4l-dvb-experimental drivers and everything worked.

I am only using the linux DVB drivers to get ATSC/8VSB OTA broadcast TV. So I can't offer anything about the analog drivers.
