Hi

I was following this guide http://www.avenard.org/iptv/MythTV.html which is a walk through in setting up TPG internets (ISP in AUstralia) IPTV offering to playback through mythtv. Hit a snag with the tv_grab_au_tpg script being written in python not pearl like the other grabbers in knoppmyth.

So my obvious question is how can I make this work? Is there modules I can install so that the xmltv scanner will see the python xmltv grabber or is there some way of converting it into a pearl format.

Perhaps form that statement above will give some indication of my programming skills lol.

Don't really need it not alot on offer with the stations provided but I'll happily give it a go if someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks heaps in advance

I am in the USA, I'm not sure I can even try the set-up. I do not know python, but if you can tell me where the code is I will look at it and/or try it on my system, maybe that will help.

Hi bob

the tv_grab_au_tpg script is on that page I linked earlier if you want I'll paste the code in to a reply though the file is rather large for a forum post I think.

Thanks for the interest :)

Sorry I didn't read it carefully the first time.

You need the pytz package, you can get it from here:
http://pytz.sourceforge.net/

This should work:
Code:
/bin/su -
wget \ http://downloads.sourceforge.net/pytz/pytz-2006p.tar.gz?modtime=1165595041&big_mirror=0
cd pytz-2006p
tar xzvf pytz-2006p.tar.gz
python setup.py install

Note that I have not tried this, but it should be a step in the right direction. I get a bit nervous about installing software without using packages. If something goes wrong, it's harder to uninstall.

Hi,

I came across this thread after I'd posted my own experiences in another thread - here:

http://knoppmyth.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.p ... 456#116456

I'm trying to do the exact same thing as you, with limited success so far.

cheers,
