PLLLLLZZZZ if anyone knows of a good P4 micro-atx that seems to work in knoppmyth I would love to hear~! I'm trying to get a pvr-250 (non-mce) and a pc-hd3000 working and having super issues. Using a pci SPDif card Envy24PT/HT for sound and had nothing but trouble :(((((

Perhaps a visit to the Tier 1 and Tier 2 Hardware Recommendations forums here?

Well I would suggest the Abit AS8 I believe it is, but it's not a micro it's standard ATX, but I can confirm that everything on it works great.

I agree about the AS8. You can also look over the offerings from ASUS as I have found them to be a pretty reliable m/b maker. Be careful about the chipset, tho, because I see more and more boards without any PCI slots, only "PCI Express." AFAIK these slots won't support a PCI card like the HD-3000.

Cool..Thnx on the Abit. My problem was I wuz looking for a uAtx board to fit in my case and still be able to use me P4 Northwood 3.0giger. I do have the pchd-3000 however so I guess I need to watchout for that pci slot issue.

I did check out the Tier 1/2 and nothing P4 in the uAtx that I could find, correct me if I'm wrong :)

-Thnx again

I'm not up on my Pentium names. Is your chip a socket 478? This motherboard from ASUS looks nice. It doesn't have gig lan, but that's not really required. It has built-in graphics but I don't know if the Intel Extreme chipset is really useful. It has AGP for an nVidia card, tho. It has SPDIF out and lots of USB ports. And it's only 9.6 inches on each side. I've had very good luck with ASUS boards in the past.

The Northwood core chips are all socket 478 I believe. Anything listed under Tier 1/2 which supports a socket 478 processor or with an Intel i865/i875 chipset should be OK. A quick visit to NewEgg shows 11 possibilities...
