Post subject: | 42" Plasma, PAL UK, Resolution & Offsets |
Hi, If it helps anyone: I have successfully tweaked suitable settings for displaying on MythTV on a 42" plasma screen on a PAL UK TV. My TV is capable of 1024 x 768 resolutions. from within Mythtv (appearance settings, GUI) Select “Run GUI in window” Width: 987 Height: 730 X Offset: 11 Y Offset: 34 The screen was previously cropped on the edges of my TV all the way around. I had the same problem on a regular TV (which normally use 640 x 480 as the resolution) and from the knoppmythwiki it said PAL UK users should use: Width: 624 Height: 440 X Offset: 41 Y Offset: 24 Also I went for the following font sizes on the regular TV: Default Font set to Large Small: 16 Medium: 22 Large: 28 =======System VIA EPIA MII S-Video Tv Out from motherboard |

forgot to mention.... Also need to set video card Tv-out to Overscan in the config file. If I leave XF86Config-4 as its default settings then the tv screen is not fully maximised. In order to get full screen usage I enabled overscan for my VIA device in the XF86Config-4 file. That, however, cropped the edges and was solved by setting the GUI resolution and offsets to that above. |

What did you add to XF86Config-4 to enable overscan, and was it the XF86Config-4 in /etc/X11? Better still, could you post your XF86Config-4? |

Never mind, I got the info from another one of your posts! ![]() Just in-case anyone's interested, or googling for this.. I added the following line to /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 to enable overscan on my epia motherboard : Option "TVVScan" "over" Directly under the following lines : Driver "via" VendorName "All" BoardName "All" # BusID "PCI:1:0:0" |
