Anyone else in England having problems with getting TV listings from the Radio Times feed. I have only 7 days of listings left and falling. :roll:

Hey Jim

I am having the same problem, only got 10 days left. Just ran a mythfilldatabase manually and got the following error :

http://xmltv.radiotimes.com/xmltv/160.dat: Code point \u0000 is not a valid character in XML at /usr/share/perl/5.8/XMLTV.pm line 1757
2008-03-03 22:44:40.009 ------------------ End of XMLTV output ------------------
2008-03-03 22:44:40.011 FAILED: xmltv returned error code 65280.
Error in 74992:21: unexpected end of file

Does anyone have any idea how this can be temporarily fixed until the dodgy days data passes by ????

After further investigation, it turns out that the 160.dat is the xmltv feed file for filmfour, #'d it out of my /home/mythtv/.mythtv/sourcename.xmltv and the mythfilldatabase went through fine !!!!!

I am not sure when the bad days data will pass by, but I thought I would let other people know how to get by until then.....

Does anyone know what the dodgy character(s) is/are ??? I could then see on what date it will pass.....

LOoks like they have made an error with the channels.dat file.
I have emailed them.

Make the code like...

#my $channel_list_uri = 'http://xmltv.radiotimes.com/xmltv/channels.dat';
my $channel_list_uri = 'http://localhost/channels.dat';

That will let you pickup the channels.dat file locally.
Remember to change the code back or do...

mv usr/bin/tv_grab_uk_rt-01 /usr/bin/tv_grab_uk_rt

once they have fixed the problem, does not really matter if you don't but if RT change the channel numbers then it might not work anymore.

Hopefully they might fix it tomorrow

Had an email back from RT, they are aware of the problem and looking at fixing it.
Even after I made the change above my schedule did not go back to the full 14 days so there must be another problem as well.

I have a similar problem, down to 1 day's worth of listings now, but the error code I get is 65280. Any ideas for a solution would be appreciated.

p.s. why do we get so many problems with tv_grab_uk_rt?
