Hi

I have a fresh install of R5A16 and a windows share containing my mp3's mounted on /myth/music.

Everything seems to work fine, except that the player will only play one song, and then stop. If I press "select" on the next song in the playlist, it starts playing with no problem.

I've checked mysql database for corruption, rescanned my music, and tried various play modes. Strange thing is my previous installation of R5A16 on the same box did not have this problem.

Any ideas?

thanks, Dirk

sorry to jump in here but how did you get your windows share mounted?

I have 2 Windows XP PC's in the house and both have username but no password logons. I read the Samba guide on the Wiki and tried:

Code:
# smbmount //192.168.3/video's /myth/music/video/

I could get "anonymous logon" for one PC which then gave me a weird error message. The other one just gave me the weird error message. (will rewrite with error later).

I also followed this from the guide:

Quote:
# apt-get update
# apt-get install smbclient
# apt-get install smbfs

I gathered the /etc/fstab edits specify username and passwords but if they are for auto-bootup then they shouldn't matter.

Any idea's

Thread hijack ;)

parkinpants, try: On your XP machines, enable the guest account. Disable simple file sharing & under the security tab of the folders add the everyone group.

This is assuming you have XP Pro, not home.

btw I use this command for mounting the share:

mount -t smbfs -o lfs //192.168.0.220/sharename /mnt/windows
