I installed R5A22 onto a SATA drive and things pretty much worked with my nvidia-based graphics card driving my pc monitor. The frontend worked, the backend worked, I could schedule recordings, view live tv, view recorded programs.

Then I decided to try to make changes to XF86Config-4 to get the output to my TV. I stopped gdm, made my mods to XF86Config-4 and started gdm. Now the nvidia logo comes up, I see the tux desktop briefly, then get prompted for my preferred language and two screens of database configuration (all of which I'm pretty sure I answered earlier). I go thru the configuration screens(2) and end up at the desktop again, but no mythtv frontend.

Each time I stop and start gdm, I get reprompted for language and database configuration and never see the mythtv frontend. The backend is still chugging away. Removing my changes to XF86Config-4 doesn't seem to solve the problem.

Any clues what I messed up?

Thanks

Was that the only change made? Sounds like the frontend cannot communicate w/ the backend. Check the backend log and start the frontend from an xterm to see some output...
