I've managed the install and when I go through the 5 configuration steps it all hangs up after step 3? It just shows 50% ready for ever...

What am I doing wrong?

That's a semi-common issue. You need to flip to the other screen where it's waiting for some input related to the DL. I forget the details but a search here for something like "freezes at 50%" should turn it up...

once you have an xterm open [ALT-x] simply type
