Hi chofstetter,

In the eye of the beholder, that is where the beauty is suppose to be, you have a computer, and capture card, and if it works that is a big step to being "your best" . I know nothing about the avermedia card, however I have had some experience with Dell's. They tend to have some little quirks in the older machines but they will work. L400c GX1 400 ~ 600, GX260, 270, 280 and a few others.

So far my personnel choice is an older e-machine W1640 with a pvr-350 and am hoping to try a newer one with the hd3000 soon. It has just worked since R4V5 and is the only one with full audio mixing. ie, while my music or tv is playing, it will announce the time for me.

If you install a burner, it should pick it up. Give it a go :)
Have a great day
Mike
