Post subject: | Deleting phantom encoders |
I just upgraded from R5Bsomething to R5C7. All went great thanks to the forums and the wiki, all went very quickly. The only (apparent) problem I have right now is that my backend thinks there's six encoders... three belonging to "mythtv" (I didn't think my backend was called that prior to the upgrade...) and three belonging to "mbe" (which is what I thought it was named before, and what I named it when installing R5C7) Quote: Encoder 1 is remote on mythtv (currently not connected).
Encoder 2 is remote on mythtv (currently not connected). Encoder 3 is remote on mythtv (currently not connected). Encoder 4 is local on mbe and is recording: 'News 4 at 5' on WRCDT. This recording will end at 06:00 PM. Encoder 5 is local on mbe and is watching Live TV: 'Pokémon' on TOON. This recording will end at 05:30 PM. Encoder 6 is local on mbe and is not recording. Yes, Pokemon... had to sedate the kids during the update. ![]() How can I remove the phantom encoders? Thanks. Other than this, the upgrade was smoooooooth. |

From the way that looks, mythtv is a slave backend. But I take it you don't have an sbe? I suppose you could use MySQL (or Webmin) to delete the data from the db itself. Backup first. ![]() |

Thanks, cesman. No, no slave backend. Not sure how it got that funny idea. I installed webmin and opened up mythconverg. Most promising table seemed to be "capturecard" which had six entries. I deleted the three 'phantom' entries and renumbered the real capture cards 1 through 3. After rebooting things seem to be working. However, if anyone out there knows of any other MySQL tables I should edit, please let me know. Thanks! |
