I ripped 5 dvds last night at perfect setting and everyone of them had the directors commentary playing through the whole movie.

What did I do wrong?

Same movie or different ones?

Try the .iso rip.
Also search for "spanish". I recall this happening a while back. I ripped one and the audio was spanish, and then I saw that others had the same trouble.

After further investigation, I have found that Myth is reading the wrongaudion track on play back.

I downloaded one of the movies to my desktop and played it with Video Lan.
When I start the movie it starts with the commentary track. Another movie starts with the french track. With Video Lan I can change tracks to correct the problem. I know that the english track works and that the commentary can be turned off.

Problem is, I shouldn't have to do this to play the move.

Is there a setting that I might have changed that would cause this?

I rip at Perfect setting with en ac3 6ch (DTS when available), AC3 Audio is checked.

Any ideas?

The ISO rip does not work at all. I end up with no sound whatsoever. And some movie's are pixelated. Can't even make out the pic.

There has to be a simple solution. I will look for the spanish thing too.

Update.

Your advice made it work. Looked at this post http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... ip+spanish

aid=128 did the trick. Only problem is that the one movie I tried at excellent, no longer has sound. No problem for me as I have the disk space to re-rip it at perfect. Just thought others may benefit form seeing this.

Damn these things take up a lot of freaking space.

I'm assuming that this is still a known bug.

Thanks for the direction to make the tweak.

This thread deals with same problem. Problem is MTD encodes the video will all the audio tracks and Mplayer chooses to play wrong one.

edit: Looks like you were quicker with your search button than me.

UPDATE:

Even though adding the line into the config fixes playback, I have noticed that some files will playback with no sound whatsoever. If I remove the aid-128 setting, then those said videos work.

If I just use Xine instead, this is not a problem. But then you get that DAMN blue line at the bottom of the screen.

Anyone have an easy fix for this. Ben STF with no luck.

The famous blue borders FAQ? Like these http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7236&highlight=blue+borders http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6698&highlight=blue+borders?

Or maybe this http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=BlueBorders?

Thanks, that worked great. Guess searching for blue line wasn't the answer.

I just noticed that now using Xine for video playback, I need to make an adjustment somewhere for the remote to work right.

FF RR skip ahead and or back no longer register when using the remote for videos. I don't want to break anything either.

I looked in the .lircrc file. But I'm not sure if that is the right place to make the changes.

Remote works right when viewing a DVD, just not a video.

If you had button settings that worked for you before this is covered in the R5E50 Upgrade hints and hazards posting under "Phase 3 - Post-install setup" # 2.3. ;-)
