Post subject: | r5e50 upgrade problems |
I have had a version of mythtv running for about a year now. I beleive I was running r5b7. I had a airstar hd5000 capture card with a nvidia tv video card and everything was working ok. I tried to do to things tonight. First I added a pvr 150 card. Then I tried to upgrade to r5e50. The backend does not seem to start. I have looked at the log and there a few errors but I am not sure how to interpret them. Also I get an error in the backend log with opening the hd5000. It the error is: 2007-01-04 23:17:57.085 DVBChan(0) Error: Opening DVB frontend device failed. eno: No such file or directory (2) Also I get an error during start up. It says: PCI: cannon allocate resource region 0 of Device 0000:01:06.0 PCI: cannon allocate resource region 3 of Device 0000:01:06.0 PCI: error while updateing region 000:01:06.013 (0000a0001!=0000a009) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Should I start over with a clean install? Also of note when I go into mythtv-setup and I look at my hd5000 card it says device cannot be opened or something to that effect. Rkshack |

The backend thing is a known issue. Rebooting usually clears it or you can start it manually. If you haven't already read it please see the upgrade hints posting here: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13108 Also see this wiki page for how to start the BE manaully: http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=MythBackendNotRunning |

My problem was that I had the cards in the incorrect slots. I had to put the cards in slots that were next to each other. When I did that everything worked fine. rkshack |
