Snapstream Firefly - R5E50... tried following the guidelines on mythtv.org (wiki)... for fedora... but no luck. It's not responding to any buttons... tried irw - nothing happens ? How can I troubleshoot ? |

I've been a long time user of the Firefly remote since they came out. About a week after I installed R5E50, mine seemed to stop working as well. The light comes on the remote, not in irrecord and irw, I get nothing. Tried on my backend as well. I broke down and bout a Streamzap remote, so I'm not much help here. I'd be quiet interested if you are able to get it working again. |

Still running and prefer KnoppMyth, but just installed MythDora on one of the clients. This worked perfect with the Firefly remote (out of the box) - excellent, MythDora, is a bit more resource demanding than KnoppMyth. Anyway, at least that was a solution to the Firefly remote problem - instead of thowing it away ![]() |

The StreamZap should be automatically detected. It would be nice if you could post the actually link since you are asking for assistance. |

? original link ? Currently I use MythDora on one client with the SnapStream Firefly remote. On the other clients (3) I use the ATI Remote Wonder - no problems - with knoppmyth. ATI Remote, works out of the box. Firefly with Knoppmyth - no go. I am happy with the ATI remotes, might even buy one instead of the Firefly. You are doing a great job !! and I really appreciate the response from all admin (and those who knows what they are doing ![]() |

apparently this is possible in knoppmyth... if you use 1) ati_remote module 2) .xmodmap my version of firefly accepts inputs as ati_remote ... maps the keys odd... but you can the remap with .xmodmap I'll re-install knoppmyth... and confirm... later.. |

well apparently this is only possible if you use the ATI RF reciever, together with the firefly remote ![]() |

I have tried this, 1) ati_remote module 2) .xmodmap but the remote does not transmit until a second button is pushed. Example, if I press the 1 button twice it transmit a 1. If I press 1 and then up, it transmits the up button when using irw. |
