Help wanted. I have been running Mythtv for a couple of years in the UK and have just upgraded to R5E50 to get myth 0.20 and vnc support. Since the upgrade I now cannot view any live TV. In the frontend log I get the following. 2007-02-18 19:10:00.564 Using Protocol version 31 2007-02-18 19:10:00.579 TV: Attempting to change from None to WatchingLiveTV 2007-02-18 19:10:00.581 Using protocol version 31 2007-02-18 19:10:00.914 NVP: Disabling Audio, params(-1,2,44100) 2007-02-18 19:10:00.962 VideoOutputXv: XvMCTex: Init failed 2007-02-18 19:10:00.964 VideoOutputXv Error: Could not find suitable XVideo surface. 2007-02-18 19:10:00.965 VideoOutputXv: Falling back to X shared memory video output. *** May be slow *** I see a blank screen until I hit escape and get back to the Myth Frontend menu. Can anyone offer any assistance? Thanks. I am running a Hauppauge Nova-T DVB card Intel P3 700MHz |

I suspect that for some reason you ended up with an X driver that either doesn't have Xv support or you missed the bit in the R5E50 Upgrade Hints about enabling XvMC... http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13108 |

I have had a look through these posts and I am a little scared to try anything with the drivers. Would it be easier to just purchase a newer video card to give myself more of a chance of X having the correct drivers? TIA. |
