Long ago, I upgraded to E50. Then two or three weeks later, the sound got messed up when playing back shows. It's like it's a few octaves higher. I looked into the playback speed, and it was set at 1.0, just normal. If I slow it down a bit to 0.85-0.90, it sounds almost right (but not quite). I hadn't changed any settings at the time. I rebooted, powered off, etc, and nothing fixed it. Then, just as mysteriously, it stopped doing it a few days later. Shows once again sounded normal.

Last night, this same thing happened again. I haven't done anything (seriously!) but watch shows and delete them. I've used Knoppmyth for a long time (R5A* maybe?) and never had any trouble from it. But this one just confounds me. The shows are recorded at normal speed, copying the mpegs to a Windows box and playing them there is just fine.

Any similar situations happened to anyone, or any ideas what could be going wrong?
