Post subject:  Custom EPG for s-video
Hi,

I'm having some difficulty getting MythTV to schedule a recording and then actually *do* it. My setup is, humm... how do I put this, a little out of the ordinary. This MythTV setup is for CCTV configuration and I currently only have the s-video associated with a "listing"/"schedule" (and I'm not even completely sure how I pulled that off... I think it was a manual mythfilldatabase with a blank epg.xml that got things working).

Anyway... this is what my epg.xml file currently looks like (ah, screw it... the xlm isn't going to show due to the phpbb mungification of "HTML"... ok, I've done a quick substitution "-lab-" = left angle bracket and "-rab-" = right angle bracket):

mythfilldatabase doesn't seem to complain when this is force-feed into MythTV as my very own EPG, but nothing shows up under the listings and when I schedule recordings (from the web based interface), the recordings never happen.

When I manually input a recording request and look at it's options, I get this:

MythTV Status: This showing will be recorded. (Never Record)

"showing will be recorded. (Never Record)", what the heck is that about?


...any suggestions or links would be highly appreciated.

As I just mentioned in your other thread you can set up a source without a grabber, then use the Manual Record to determine the time and date of a recording.
You don't have all of the info that you get with an EPG, but you able to set the title.
