Post subject: | Nvidia/Xserver making LIRC non responsive |
Ok, So I recently upgraded my FC5 box using yum upgrade command. Everything got updated. LIRC, Madwifi, Alsa, Mythtv, kernel and so on. Now, I have this weired problem. I have to restart lircd service otherwise my remote does not work. So when the FC5 boots, loads kde and launches mythfrontend... remote doesn't work. I have to use the keyboard to exit mythfrontend, restart lircd service and launch mythfrontend again.. now the remote works. I did solve this problem accidently and temporarily when I updated to latest nvidia 9755 driver. It broke something in the xorg.conf file and upon reboot, x came up using generic driver and to my surprize... remote worked. Didn't have to restart the lircd service. But as soon as I got the xorg.conf file fixed for nvidia modules... lircd needs the restart again. any clue as to what nvidia function/option etc is messing with lircd ? If I can't fix this... is there a way I can run a script to do /sbin/service lircd restart thanks |
