Post subject:  Myth Restore

I have a question but couldn't find a thread on it, probably some old one somewhere.
I have a problem where on occasion my computer will freeze or something along those lines and there's no hope but to reset. When it comes back up it gives a backend error which can be fixed by doing a myth restore. But when this is done there is still tv shows left in the /myth/TV directory that will not come back due to the fact that the backup was done before the most recent recordings. Is there a way to get these back or do I just keep manually deleting them off the harddrive?
Thanks,

 That is _definitely_ not a recommended use of restore. I shudder to think how frelled up your system is by now.

At some point in the near future I'd strongly recommend doing a clean install to get the system in a reasonable state, and if you have a back end problem again, post here before messing with it to get instructions on how to fix it in a cleaner way.

In the meanwhile, search for "recover" or "recovery" and "myth.rebuilddatabase.pl" which should find several threads about getting recordings to be recognized after the DB table that indexes them gets damaged. There is a bit of technique to getting the best results.
