My mythbox (r5F27) is plugged to my HDTV @ 1980x1080.
All my recordings are SD. I didn't touch recording profiles.

I created a DVD for one of my friend (with cutlist). The results on his TV is not really good.
The image flickers every 6-7 seconds and the image is interlaced.

His TV is a Panasonic CRT 27" and his DVD player is a cheap one. (Citizen).
Is there anything I can do to make it appear better on his TV?

I created DVDs with my old mythbox with an older knoppmyth version (R5Cxx) with no problem. It was with mythwebburn.

EDIT :
I created a new profile in
/usr/share/mythtv/mytharchive/encoder_profiles/ffmpeg_dvd_ntsc.xml with -deinterlace option.

Quote:
<profile>
<name>SP Deinterlace</name>
<description>A standard play profile giving approx. 2 hour of video on a single layer DVD</description>
<bitrate>2096.63</bitrate>
<passes>1</passes>
<parameter name="-v" value="1"/>
<parameter name="-i" value="%inputfile"/>
<parameter name="-r" value="ntsc"/>
<parameter name="-target" value="dvd"/>
<parameter name="-b" value="4771k"/>
<parameter name="-s" value="720x480"/>
<parameter name="-acodec" value="ac3"/>
<parameter name="-ab" value="192k"/>
<parameter name="-ac" value="2"/>
<parameter name="-copyts" value=""/>
<parameter name="-aspect" value="%aspect"/>
<parameter name="-deinterlace" value=""/>
<parameter name="" value="%outputfile"/>
</profile>
