Post subject: | Installed SVN - Broke Mythweb |
Good morning, I upgraded to SVN using the script I found here on the forum. Everything went very smoothly with the build. It did crash trying to build Mythphone, but I don't use it anyway so I just disabled it in the configure. Rebooted and everything works well on my frontend. The only thing I can't seem to make work is Mythweb. The Knoppmyth page comes up fine. I can look at the RRD graphs. But if I try to access any of the actual mythweb pages I get this error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STATIC, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /usr/share/mythtv/mythweb/classes/Database.php on line 106. I have searched the forum, wiki, and gossamer-threads and have tried the suggestions there. I have been trying for 2 days and don't know where to go. Anybody else have this problem? Thanks |

From what I have been able to find from searching for this error, could this be a PHP version problem? I found a posting on another site where they had gotten this error because the script was running on PHP 4 but had been written in PHP4? Grasping at straws. |

In the process of trying to fix this I totally screwed up Apache so bad I had to completely uninstall Apache and start over. After I got Apache running again I still could not get mythweb to load. On a whim I cleared the cache and presto I was in. Don't know what the problem was but by thrashing around I got it working. |

Just in case anyone runs into this same problem I was able to get a response from the guys at mythtv http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/4880 Installing php 5.2 is not easy so I am going to checkout version 16086 |
