Post subject:  Hauppauge HD-PVR 1212 Support?

Hauppauge has just started shipping an HD-PVR 1212 that uses the component video inputs, and compresses the video stream to mpeg2 with hardware. The compressed video comes into the computer via the USB2.0 port.

This is the first device that allows for FULL ACCESS to cable and satellite media, using the component video outputs of the set-top cable or satellite box.

Are there plans in-the-works to generate a linux driver for this gadget, and for mythtv
support soon after?

With it's integrated IR-BLASTER and hardware mpeg2 compression, this would be the ultimate home theater system for High Definition.

It compresses to H.264, not mpeg2.

Has anyone received their Hauppauge HD-PVR model 1212 yet?
I ordered mine about a month ago, and the last I heard the sales rep said that the
May 1st shipping date looked solid.

Is it just a backlog, or have they had a glitch in production roll-out anyone know?
