So I'm getting some choppy video output on my SB. I was using the PVR-350 to decode but that had its own issues. Now I'm getting this message in the frontend log. I'm still googling to see if there are obvious answers. Any help would be appreciated.

The PVR-350 is great for playing back SDTV recordings if you select it as your decoder in the config.

On the other hand as a video card using the ivtvfb (frame buffer) driver, it just barely works. The driver doesn't provide Xv support and certainly doesn't provide XvMC acceleration.

Bottom line, you're trying to configure it to do something that it flat out doesn't do. Getting bad results because of that is a natural consequence. Configure it to use it's capabilities properly and you'll be much happier.

BTW - This is not intended as a flame, but you've asked a series of questions recently which you should have been able answer yourself with a trivial amount of research. Doing the research yourself may cost a small amount of effort, but you'll generally get the answers faster and gain a better understanding in the process, meaning you won't have to ask quite so many FAQs.

You're somewhat right. But why reinvent the wheel? I truly appreciate the answers I've received from this forum. I simply haven't found the time to get the answers myself.
