Over the last couple days notices myth weather is showing the forcast but not the map. Has weather.com screwed around with something again???

Thanks

Both my and my girlfriend's R5F27 systems are doing the same thing.

It says "Map Unavailable".

Yes have seen the same thing. I guess weather.com has made some changes somewhere.

They still have links for "Classic Local Maps" but the links may have changed.

I am also experiencing this. I am seeing:
Error at /usr/share/mythtv/mythweb/modules/weather/includes/objects/WeatherSite.php, line 130: Invalid argument supplied for foreach()

I looked up that line in the file and it refers to http://image.weather.com. Going there in a browser takes you to the same content as www.weather.com.

Hopefully, Weather Channel or MythTV will resolve this. I miss my radar images.

No. Looks like the people with the skills to address the issue don't care if they get wet...;-)

Or maybe they're busy trying to test & fix the upcoming R5.5 release...

MythWeather has been revamped in mythtv 0.21. While it is pretty cumbersome to configure right now, it seems to be quite functional. The future looks quite promising, as it looks like it will be much simpler in the future to handle additional information sources and screen types (which already has been expanded when compared to older versions of MythWeather).

Thus, for those of us using KnoppMyth, either (1) wait until R5.5, or (2) upgrade your current installations to mythtv 0.21.

Or (3), use your laptop, cellphone, or local weather channel to get the radar.

With 5.5,
Use these instructions on how to get a map (stolen from the Mythtv. org wiki under mythweather configuration.)

United States

These sources are all for locations in the United States.

* "Animated maps and most (if not all) of the static ones aren't listed by zip/city. Leave the search box blank and search for everything. You'll get a list of stuff by region of the US. Pick your region of the US from the search results. Took me a while to figure that one out. :)" via Brad DerManouelian

You can generally do a lot better than going through everything with a bit of simple research and information. Look up your local airport code, this is a good thing to know for any number of reasons. For example in the Boston area KBOS (Logan Airport) and KBED (Hanscom Field) are obvious choices. Start here: http://www.airnav.com/airports/ Once you know that, you can use it for the current conditions, 18 hour, 3 day and 6 day outlooks. For alerts, in the US the NWS generally does them by county, again something that's good to know for any number of reasons. Finally for the radar maps what's available is by major region. Northeast, North Central, Northwest, Southeast, South, Southwest, South Central, East Central, Central, West Central.
