So, most DVD's play GREAT with the internal player. But I've got a couple of movies (Aladdin and Cars) that lock smooth when the FBI notice comes up. Something about the still frame freaks the player out. You can't skip past it, you can't go to root menu, nothing. In fact, all I can do is CTRL-ALT-Backspace to even get the box to respond at all.

On Aladdin, the stupid thing STARTS OUT with the FBI notice and so I can't do anything with the disk. On Cars, it does it after the THX intro, but can be bypassed by simply going to the chapter select.

Any ideas??? This is the last thing I need to have my mythbox complete.

BTW, the ripped ISO of Aladdin does the same thing!

Thanks in advance.

I never my stuff to play DVDs, but if what you're saying it true about the player locking up at the warning, and this is also true on a rip, can you rip just the main movie VOBs and play them w/ mplayer? What util are you using to generate your iso?

I just used the myth dvd ripper. I could split the VOBs and I'm sure that would work, but I'd REALLY like to make this my "normal" DVD player and I'm sure the wife and kiddos won't have the opportunity to rip the things. :)

It only is locking up on those particular screens. I haven't tried a ton of disks yet, but Star Wars II has a different kind of FBI warning (the one with the "FOX"'s in the background) and that goes through just fine. The ones that lock have a solid green and a solid blue background.

Thanks,
