Follow the direction of the page to install it..
Its really just copying the files to the right location and choosing that OSD in the setting>tv>playback

IMHO it is a huge step up from the stock myth theme. :D

Somehow, the new theme name wasn't showing up in the settings, so I had to hand code it directly in the database (Settings table, "OSDTheme").

added it to my machine and i have must say it is great. I really like the placement of all the info as well as the time.

Great work i suggest everyone at least give this one a shot.

I have untared the OSD into the /usr/share/mythtv/themes directory but I cant select the theme on the settings screen.

Ive tried updating the OSDTheme value in the settings table...no joy. I must be doing something wrong.

the path should be /usr/share/mythtv/themes/isthus <sp?> once you put it there you should not have to do anything but select it in TV settings.

khrusher: the only difference I'm seeing between your isthmus directory listing and mine is that your files are group writable and mine aren't. Maybe chmod g-w *.* and see what happens?

what version are you on..Im in R4V3...I still have no luck. Permissions are correct. I do notice that the files in the isthmus theme dont mathc my ohter themes. other themes have ui.xml adn theme.xml. new theme has osd.xml.

I did the following as a test.

cp -r PurpleGalaxy PurpleGalaxy.save
cp isthmus/* PurpleGalaxy/


now if I go to the apperence settings in the front end, the list contains PurpleGalaxy.save but no PurpleGalaxy. So there is something in the isthmus that is issing or not recognized by the front end.

Ah... basic misconception. There are mulktiple kinds of themes. Purple Galaxy is a menu/list theme, isthmus is an OSD (on screen display) theme like blueosd or defualtosd. You're looking in thre wrong place. Try the third or fourth page under setup->tv->playback.

This OSD is nice, I like it a lot. I had problems getting it load properly, thought, but I found the fix.

When you copy / extract the files into the /usr/share/mythtv/themes directory be sure to create a new directory named "isthmus" in the themes directory first and copy / extract them into this new directory.

The directory structure should be:

/usr/share/mythtv/themes/isthmus

with all of the files in it.

I tried to use the isthmusosd directory as indicated on the developers website, but that didn't work on my system.

Great job on the new OSD--Cool!
