| Post subject: | no menus when starting frontend |
For some reason, when I start the Myth frontend, all I get is the theme background, no menus or images. If I hit enter, it goes to live TV (as I would expect) because it is the first option...and it plays fine. If I hit escape, then I get something on screen asking me if I am sure I want to exit yes/no (which is the only thing I can get the front end to display in the way of menus). If I try to run the backend, I get a similar problem...only background, no menus. What I've tried. 1) I uninstalled the theme. Re-ran frontend and it defaulted to another theme, but had same "no menu" problem. 2) ran optimize_mythdb.pl and it fixed some things supposedly, but not my main problem. 3) I've rebooted several times, between trying different things...no luck. 4) This seems to work, but the fonts look strange, so my OpenGL is messed up? mythfrontend -O ThemePainter=qt Any help would be appreciated. |

What are your hardware specs (particularly the video card)? OpenGL is wacked on my machines. Both use an old 440MX with the 96.x driver as I recall and the OpenGL is broken. I have to use qt painter or upgrade hardware. |

It's an Nvidia 8500GT and the OpenGL was working fine. |
