I'm trying to burn a program onto DVD and encountered an error partway through the process. The error message reads, "Failed while running growisofs. Result 1, command was: growisofs-dvd-compat -Z/dev/dvd-dvd-video-V ...." Please check the troubleshooting section of the README for ways to fix this error. How do I access the README files? I don't think that README is installed. You can read it here: http://cvs.mythtv.org/trac/browser/trun ... ive/README although that is 3 years old and not a lot of help. If you are burning a DVD+RW, it could be that it already had something burnt on to it and 1) you forgot to select it as a DVD+RW on the first page of MythArchive, or 2) the Media Monitor was enabled, and it had the drive mounted. In this case, disable the Media Monitor and restart, or install an updated mythburn.py If the disc was an empty DVD+R, then check the permissions, like the TROUBLESHOOTING section says. |

Hi Adele, Mike here. I found that if the program's working title has an odd looking character in it (e.g. : ( ) ' " [ ] *) you may have problems with the burn script. To see if that's the problem, the log file's last few lines will include the actual command used, and will have the title in quotes. If you run this command manually on the xterm but with a working title free of the offending character you will probably have more luck with growisofs. If I remember, I'll have a go at modifying the script to check for these. If you find that this is the situation with you, can you please post the offending character and I will try and add a check and conversion process for it. Regards Mike |
