2-3 years ago, there was a fair bit of discussion about uPnP set-top boxes such as the Netgear EVA7000, Buffalo LinkTheater, DLink DSM-520, Popcornhour A-100 (worst product/company name ever). The consensus at that time seemed to be that they mostly, sort-of worked with MythTV, but all had drawbacks such as inability to skip forward XX seconds, inability to delete a recording after watching it, etc. I've been searching various forums/lists to see if those problems have been solved, but I can find very little recent info on the MythTV compatibility and usability of current HD-capable uPnP clients (EVA8000, DSM-510, LinkTheater HD, etc.). If you've had (or heard about) any recent experience with any of them, I'd love to hear about it... |
