Post subject: | Mythtranscode - audio broken on 6.04 |
Last weekend I upgraded to 6.04. Went fairly smooth, thanks for all the hard work! Ran into a little (apparently obscure) bump. I use the built in mythtranscode to reduce the size of HD and compress to MPEG-4 some recordings so two of my weaker front ends can play them. When playing back shows transcoded after the 6.04 upgrade recordings have slow audio or "monster audio" as my wife says. I did some searching and learned two things: - not many people use mythtranscode any more - the issue is known and there is a patch...has to do with down-mixing 6 channels to 2 http://www.gossamer-threads.com/list...v/users/466592 http://www.mythtvtalk.com/playback-half-speed-after-transcoding-13472-2/ So two questions, only need an answer to one to solve my problem: - Is there a better way to achieve seamless playback through the myth front end interface (through on weaker front ends without mythtranscode? My backend has plenty of spare horsepower. - Is there a simple way to recompile just mythtranscode with the 6 channels to 2 patch? I have done some searching and I know I'll find it, but would be appreciative for some good pointers as to how to get the current 6.04 myth source and compile. Thanks in advance for the help. Dave |
