The HDD was full: http://forum.linhes.org/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=22653, however I blew away a 600 MB log file to free up some space. It is now constantly making the read / write sound (not really sure if it is reading or writing). I am not sure what questions to ask so that I can come up with a test \ corrective action. I don't imagine that this is a problem with the drive, and that it is something that caused th 600MB file. Any suggestions are appreciated. |

If the drive is indeed not failing, most linux filesystems are NOT happy unless they have some free space on them. The rule of thumb that I was taught was 80 % full. You might want to re-evaluate your disk usage. |
