Is there anyway to turn the default setting for auto expire in R8.3 to on like in previous versions? It use to be everything was set to auto expire and you could alter the setting show by show. Now auto expire is off and you have to turn it back on show by show. Its not pretty when the hard drive fills up. TVBox |

In MythFrontend (not MythWeb) edit the "Default (Template)" recording rule, open the Menu, select Storage Options, select Allow recording to expire. All new rules using the Default template will now expire. This won't update any existing rules. |

Thanks Britney for answering. Would have never found it without your help. If there was a video of me working threw this it would have been painful to watch. It seemed every step of the way was foreign to me. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ MythTV frontend main menu >> Manage recordings >> Recording Rules Scroll down threw your programs on the "Manage Recording Rules" (top of the page) page to the D's and stop on "Default (Template)" Press OK to enter the "Schedule Editor" (top of the page) page. Press menu button on your remote and you will open a new menu window called "Options" (top of the page) and select "Storage Options" You are now now in the "Storage Option Editor" (top of the page) arrow down and tic "Allow Recordings to expire" +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ TVBox |
