Hi All,

I finally can see video now on my PVR-500's... I have a question on how
to setup these {I have 2} in Mythtv.

If the ivtv driver see this card as (2) pvr-150's then is input 6 the same
for each? and will I specify tuner 0 for each capture card I add in mythtv?

I am little confused on how it knows which input to use. In Mythtv the
PVR250/250 has the ability to have 2 tuners tuner0 and tuner1. Would
it be 2 cards in Mythtv and it will pick tuner0 or tuner1 for either card?

Any info would be great!

Also I cannot change channels and the default channel is off by 4 channels...

1. Input 6 for each, so tuner 0 for each.

2. ivtv treats the 500 as two separate pci cards, so treat it as two separate cards in mythtv and pick tuner0 for each.

3. If the tuner isn't working, then...did you follow ralph's writeup that involves upgrading ivtv? Did you make sure the
/etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv file has the debug and tuner statements removed and/or commented out?

I will assume you mean this --> http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4077&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=ralph&start=0

I does not appear that the options debug is commented out.

Which document are you referring to?

BTW: I am using R5A15.1 release of KnoppMyth and 3.4e of ivtv.

Here is my output... {made a html, it is too big for the forum}

He has a post linked to this site somewhere:

http://www.bitbenderforums.com/vb22/sho ... tid=367509

Also...

In your ivtv file...
--------------------

You don't need these two lines (they are for certain distributions, I think):
Code:
alias tveeprom ivtv-tveeprom
alias tuner ivtv-tuner

Seeing as how your options ivtv lines are commented out, I'd add this line:

Code:
options ivtv ivtv_std=0,0,0,0 tda9887=0,0,0,0 ivtv_debug=1,1,1,1

In your set_ivtv_params file (note: this filename needs to be all lower case!):
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Change all references of /dev/video4 to /dev/video0. Remember, you have
4 video devices which are: 0, 1, 2 and 3.

PS Also, in mythtv-setup, you'll want clear and recreate all your cards.

Thanks for the info...

I also have a pcHDTV card and it consumes video0...

So the first /dev/video is 1 for pvr-500's.

I did the alias thing for tuner and tveeprom otherwise it would default to the ones in the v4l2 dir... as in the ones used for the pcHDTV card I
assume.

Once I did that I was able to get these working. However, there is quite a bit of noise and studder and while watching live tv it will eventually crash and reboot. That is what I experienced so far.

I edited /etc/modules and added ivtv before the pcHDTV stuff and it recognizes the PVF-250 I have before the pcHDTV card. This seamed to help out immensely. I am still trying to get it all working smoothly though.
