Post subject:  PVR-150 on R5A12: Black scrn or "unable to initialize v

Hi all:

Well, I finally managed to get ivtv installed and working. I can capture video from my PVR-150 (retail) from the Linux command line.

However, still no picture in Myth (R5A12). I just get a black screen. I've tried disabling XvMC, but that didn't help.

First question: What tuner type should I have set in mythsetup? I'm assuming it's "Hardware mpeg2 (PVR250/PVR-350)" ?

Here is a snip from my mythbackend.log

Code:

The /cache/cache directory exists, and is mounted. Same situation for the /myth/tv directory.

Can anyone suggest what to try next?

Thanks in advance.

Post subject:  [FIXED] black scrn / "unable to initialize video"

The secret to fixing your Linux problems: Post a message for yourself to read, and then fix it yourself. Heh. I guess it cues the memory or something.

The problem is fixed now. I'm not sure exactly what did it, but it looks like I had to redo some of the permissions on the disk.

I now have video, though it needs a lot of work to improve the quality.

I'm having the same problems with the black screen. Can't exit and I have to then reboot the box using the Webmin tool.
Two questions:
Which permissions did you change/set?
What settings do you have in your Capture Card Setup screen? So far I have:
Card type - MPEG-2 Encoder Card (PVR-250. 350)
Video device - /
Default input - Television

Thanks in advance
