I just read this article about Time Warner testing cable boxes with the capability to view watched eBay items and show alerts when you are outbid on them. I wonder...how feasible would it be to add a feature like this to MythTV? |

With my limited experience I suspect it would be possible, if you look around the forums you will see someone has done something similar with storm alerts. I can't the article exactly. |

IIRC, Ebay sends out an email if you are outbid. IIRC, a module for Myth exists that has an OSD event for when new mail arrives. With a little tweaking, you can probably get it to parse for "You've been outbid!" in the subject line from user@ebay.com and have it display a special OSD event. Just a thought. |
