Good day, I have successfully got my Gentoo server running MythTV (mythtv-0.16 ebuild) running. The server specs: Gentoo-sources 2.6.11-r8 P4 2.6Ghz 512MB ram 80GB hard drive WinTV PVR-150 tuner ATI 9800 Pro (out to monitor) MythTV-.16 The laptop: Gentoo-sources 2.6.11-r6 AMD64 Mobile Athlon ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 Myth Frontend-0.18 The server is running mythbackend and has the MySQL database populated. I can connect to the backend, from the laptop. However, when I hit 'Watch TV', I get the following error: The server uses network protocol version 13, but this client only understands version 15. Make sure you are running compatible versions of the backend and frontend. After receiving the error a couple of times, I hooked it up to the wired LAN. The same error occurs. Do any of you have any ideas or suggestions? If you need anymore information, please let me know and I will be sure to post it. Thank you in advance. ~Az |

The versions of MythTV on your front end and back end boxes must match. Yours do not. You need to upgrade one or downgrade the other. |

Damn...I was hoping that wasn't the answer. Thanks and I will give it a go. ***Update*** I emerged mythfrontend-0.16 on the laptop and all is well. Thanks again. |
