when I want it to record a show it wont change to that channel on its own. Also seems my guides times are off. How do I fix the times in mythtv to be correct with my direct tv.

Any time you use a settopbox (satelite/digital cable) you have to use an irblaster, serial cable, or firewire to change the channel on the box.

More details will get you more helpful replies.

If you need to change the channel on an exterrnal tuner device (i.e. a cable or satellite box) you need to use something like an IR blaster, or a serial, USB, or Firewire connection.

Searching the forum should turn up information on this and the rest.
