I think a dual 2.4 is overkill -- especially if you're using an onboard hardware encoding capture board. IMO, save your money and get a single chip system.

Yes a dual might be over kill, but think of this...
With a system this fast you can have an all in one media center server, and a data server, and a home network firewall all in one unit. I setup a system for a demo that had a firewall, file server, samba server (setup as a domain server), and a streaming media server fo rmy mp3s. All the software was multi threaded making it very fast on a dual processor. So if steeve wishes to make a server that has all these functions then sure a fast dual setup would be best. Also not everyone wants to make a seperate frontend and back end, so if he wants to have a standalone unit what records, stores, and plays back then a faster system is needed for HDTV.
