I get really bad reception on a few channels and would like to be able to set things up so that it will never record anything on those channels. Anyone know how to do this?

Your questions really doesn't have sense. You have to tell MythTV what to record before it records anything. If you take a gander the the MythTV archives (docs as well I believe) you'll find info on removing unwanted channels.

An example ... I get really bad reception on the AMC channel. I would like to block the channel so that it doesn't show up on any of the schedule recording screens (i.e lists of movies, program finder, etc), nor does it show up when watching live tv (it skips the channel), nor if I schedule to record one showing of a movie will it record on this channel (although it will record on other channels).

Easiest way- go through mywthweb/settings/channels and uncheck it so it isn't browseable. If you are using the latest 18.1 then it shouldn't show up on the program guide.

another way, if you use Zap2it. go into your zap2it account and unselect the channels from the list. Then run mythfilldatabase after updating mythtv-setup. This will prevent even the data from being downloaded. I removed all the home shopping crap and a few other things this way, and things have worked well.
