Not only is it mythtv, but it is a knoppmyth install! Really shows how EASY it is to install and run knoppmyth. I would suggest anyone that has friends interested in knoppmyth should let them view this video. 8)

It was very cool indeed. But what was that final comment about the Mac mini and DVI? Were they saying that you could stream HD (e.g. 1080i) content over the network to the Mac mini and basically just send it out the mini's DVI connector? Is the mini powerful enough to decode HD mpeg2s?

I think it boils down to a similar situation as underpowered PCs: without some sort of hardware acceleration, the mini probably can't play it back. There are some who say they can play back HD streams on the mini, but they're not playing them through MythTV... they're using VLC or Mplayer or something else.

Even a MythOnMacOsX page says "If you want to watch HDTV, you'll have to wait for future code optimizations."

The tech types, the mini macs are based on the G4 architecture and start running at about 1.2 or 1.4 GHz. Now normally that would be fine to run HD content, but as stated previously the code is just not mature enough to handle any overhead.
