I can hear mostly static on the channels.
I can see a very very fuzzy picture(mostly snow) on one or 2 channels.
All other channels below 60 work fine.
Using R4V5, 0.2.0-rc3j

I have my tuner=39

but from dmesg:

tveeprom: Hauppauge: model = 48132, rev = K268, serial# = 7683109
tveeprom: tuner = LG TAPE H001F MK3 (idx = 68, type = 47)
tveeprom: tuner fmt = NTSC(M) (eeprom = 0x08, v4l2 = 0x00001000)

Should I set it to 47???? Will that help?

R4V5 can't handle tuner type 47 (it's a kernel issue). I had reasonable results forcing it to 44.

R5A16 handles 47s well, though I had a bad time upgrading, and ended up doing a fresh install. See here if you do install, and need TV-out - worked for me.

so i tried 44 and it seemed to work well...all channels working. But it kept freezing every so often. Any other suggestions?? aside from doing a fresh install of R5V16

I had some freeze problems, which seemed to mostly go away when I moved the 350 to another PCI slot. Something to do with IRQs perhaps.

I haven't tested R5V16 enough to know if I'm free of freezes, and I'm not particularly tempted to move the 350 back to the 'problem' slot to test it out... AFAIK, the freeze thing is not definitively diagnosed, but it may well be to do with PCI slots/IRQs. Try a slot switch.

Some people reported that just connecting to the machine via the network (ssh, or http), released their freeze, which could support the PCI/IRQ theory.

There is a separate freeze issue in R4V5 when you edit a recording - don't do that!

As for not setting the tuner type (bondo) - it's necessary to force the tuner type with tuner 47 on R4V5 because while it may auto-detect tuner type 47, that tuner type is not supported in R4V5. R5A16 autodetects and handles tuner 47 no problem.
