I currently have mythweb secure so I can access it and do everything I should, but I would like to allow my friends to have READ-ONLY access so they can check it out, but not mess it up. (Delete, change, ect...) Not that I think they would do it on purpose, but you never now. So my question is does anyone have something like this in place? If so any help would be greatly appreciated!! Hey cesman, thanks for meeting up when you were in the TC area, call again if your ever in the area! Joe |

I have not heard of anyone working on this, and It would be no little project either, becase it would basically mean implementing a complete auth and permissions system, which could most likely be oh lets say influenced by some other open source application, but still a great deal of work. |

Just a thought....could you duplicate the mythweb directory, and modify it to have it connect to the DB with a read-only user other than 'mythtv'? |

Well I'm sure there are numerous ways to approach it, but all of them a bit of work and hacking. Probably a much better place to discuss it would be over on the mythtv mailing list as that's where the developers of mythweb are anyways. |
