After several hours of trial and error I finally have the system booting to the MythTV menu. Just whenever I try to view, record whatever it says I have to back server.... Ok Mythtv.org says go to the setup screen and do this and that but I cannot get to the mythtv setup screen. My system boots staight to the MythTV menu, hit esc to exit out it goes to the MythTV backdrop, Alt ctrl F1 to prompt. Ok I log in the prompt (root or myth) and try to run mythtv-setup it tells me cannot start xserver. Any Idea..s Thanks, |

once you've exited out of the mythtv interface hit alt+x and type mythtv-setup in the window that comes up. |

thanks xsecret, you have been very busy answer questions tonight, thanks,,,,, Your answer alt-x got me to the setup and I have it 127.0.0.1 and yet it still tells me that the backserver isn't running/available (i forget) If anyone knows why the backserver isnt working.... This is a one pc system.....front and back end on same pc.... Thanks... |
