My listings are off by about 7hrs. ie. I'm seeing the 5pm News at 10am or something like that.

Any way to adjust this?

BTW, the listings come in fine otherwise. mythfilldatabase runs as expected and there are listings out a couple of weeks.

Oh and yes, my systems clock is correct and is showing correctly inside Myth.

This is a common problem, you should be able to find the solution by searching the forum. I had this problem as well, I remember having to change something in webmin, dump and recreate the database, and reset my timezone.

Hi
Sometimes during an install - upgrade, things get confused with the time and so the listing ends up offset. I run a whole bunch of little things before I enter the super secret password that appears after the first reboot. The part you would probably be interested in is the clock.

First open an xterm and switch to su -
then run tzconfig Answer yes then #2 for the east coast is good and New_York but there are other choices for the rest of the world too. ntp.org has time servers all over so may want to edit the script for your area.

Please note, this code will stop the daily zap2it fetching, you will need to set it up in the normal menus

You may have to re-run mythtv-setup and clear the listings. Then run mythfilldatabase for the refresh.

Check it out, let me know what you think:)
I am running R5A16 and love it.
Mike

Part of my "tool kit" setup script
#<code snippet>
#
#Stop the fixed daily zap2it fetch
sed 's/su/#su/' /etc/cron.daily/mythtv-backend >test
mv test /etc/cron.daily/mythtv-backend
rm test
#
#nice to have one clock that is close to the correct time
#add auto clock set for daily tweak
echo "ntpdate north-america.pool.ntp.org" >> /etc/cron.daily/mythtv-backend
#
#add auto clock set on boot and reboot
echo "ntpdate north-america.pool.ntp.org" >> /etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh
sed '' /etc/cron.daily/mythtv-backend
#shows what is now in the /etc/cron.daily/mythtv-backend
#<end of code snippet>

mjl: Your suggestions worked like a charm. I did have to reset my date after I ran tzconfig and bounce the machine before everything got sync'd up (channel browse and some things were refusing to show the current date). But end the end everything is good.

Thanks.

Hi,
Glad that helped. I run that after a new install / upgrade "before" I ever login after the reboot. Plus I run netcardconfig, tweak lilo, webmin and sshd, then login. :)

I don't have any fancy hardware except the pvr-350 and that's my goal is to make a repeatable setup every time. x is tricky but only because I don't fully understand it. I know remote x, and tv out on the pvr is possible and work great but is easy to break, hard to fix (at least for me) :)

Good luck with your system
Mike

I used your setup and it worked great, except now I have a small problem that I don't know how to fix. I ran tzconfig and then updated the time using a NTP server, and then I ran mythsetup and chose "delete my channel settings" during the program launch. I then readded my program guide/video source and set my PVR-350 card's Default Input to Tuner0. I set the newly added Video Source to Tuner 0 on my PVR-350 and ran mythfilldatabase to update the program guide.

Now when I go to "Watch TV" (or whatever it is called) I get stuck on the initial channel only. I know there must be a setting that I have missed somewhere, but I don't know where it is. I searched the forum and couldn't find anyone explaining the same problem. Do you have any idea what settings I missed?

Thanks,
Pepe
