I have to go along with Xsecrets, (except I think there are more than hundreds of users ) that somewhere something didn't go correctly with the install. Since it doesn't cost very much, I would suggest do an upgrade to reinstall. If then you get the same symptoms it could reflect a bad burn, corrupted download, drive compatabilities and numerous of possable bad things.

The R5A16 is really well done and works super for me. For being Alpha software, it is rock solid. I would redo the install as an upgrade, if you get the same problem then redo the download and reburn, maybe even with a different burner.
