i recently did a refresh install because mysql database broke... i still have all the nuv files but i was unable to run a backup thru knoppmyth so i don't have a mythconverg.sql i did save the old /var/lib/mysql/mythconverg directory in hopes it would allow me to import all my information back into mythtv although i don't think that helped me any is there anyway to put back my recordings into mythtv? thanks |

There is a script whose name escapes me, but with MPEG2 encoded files after you lose the start/end offsetsfrom the DB they're always problematic afterwards... |

After the file is entered into the database (with myth.rebuilddatabase) you can generate the start/end offsets using mythcommflag --rebuild |

Maybe with DVB recordings, but I was never able to make it work with the stuff my PVR-250 captured. |

The basic problem is that the MPEG2 encoded captures (either from a hardware encoder or DVB/ATSC capture) aren't real NUV files, and don't contain the index information which can be used to reconstruct the DB entries. Without the start/end marks you can still play them, but other operations become problematic, and attempts to run mythcommflag will result in the process hanging at 99% CPU usage essentially forever. |
